There are reasons you are winning, and if you forget them, you will lose.

When you are winning, remember there are reason you are winning. Reasons that are in your control, and reasons that are not. In your winnings, all you can do is to control your addition to success; never claim success was your complete capacity or authority; and stay grateful for the weather of luck. Never, when you have climbed success, sit on the same old chair when you hold greater weights; and never mistake a moment of ease, for a moment inviting disservice toward yourself. For you will fall. So when you are winning remember just one thing: there are reasons I am winning, and if I forget them, there will be reasons I am losing.
I have been on the bumpy ride of winning, losing, winning, losing, winning, losing and so on. Again and again and again!
For the longest time, I struggled to keep success flowing consistently.
I had purpose to keep me going. I had love to enjoy the ride. And I had peace to keep my mind stable. So I thought I was set!
But here's what I learned: whilst having a clear destination and love for the journey are important foundations for success, the how we get there matters even more.
"Direction is more important than speed."
That's how you actually get places - clear, intentional direction. But let me further add to that quote: stable direction is more important than speed.
Cuz look, you can move fast in any direction, but without any stability, you'll find yourself constantly course-correcting, wasting energy, and eventually burning out.
Stable direction means you're not just moving toward your goal – you're moving toward it consistently, learning from each step, and building momentum.
Remembering why you are winning is one crucial way to maintain this stable direction. When you understand the specific actions, decisions, and circumstances that led to your success, you can replicate them. When you forget these reasons, you lose your roadmap.
But understanding your wins is only part of the equation. Another other part is having the right tools for the journey ahead. Knowledge gives you the map - it shows you where you want to go and the possible routes to get there. Wisdom gives you the vehicle - it's the accumulated experience that helps you navigate obstacles, choose the right path when the road forks, and know when to slow down or speed up.
Without both knowledge and wisdom, you're either driving blind or walking with perfect vision but taking one step a minute.
This is why ego is your greatest enemy and humility is your greatest asset. Ego tells you that your current success means you've "figured it out" - that you can coast, stop learning, or ignore the fundamentals that got you here. Pride whispers that you're different, that the rules don't apply to you, that this time will be different.
But confidence paired with humbleness? That's the sweet spot. Confidence gives you the courage to take on new challenges and trust in your ability to figure things out. Humbleness keeps you grounded, teachable, and respectful of the process. Together, they create a mindset that's both bold enough to pursue ambitious goals and wise enough to stay connected to the fundamentals that create lasting success.
When I finally understood this - that sustainable success requires stable direction, continuous learning, and the right balance of confidence and humility – it was a complete gamechanger for me.
The cycle of winning and losing didn't stop, but I gained something more valuable: the ability to learn from both wins and losses; to maintain my direction even when the path got rocky; and to build success that wasn't just about hitting individual goals, but developing a reliable process I could use again and again.
I hope this perspective helps you out!
With love, purpose and peace,
Seb.
